OK, so I don't know if you've seen or heard anything about Sen. Clinton's press conference this afternoon, but I just have to say something about it. I think the reason she is so reticent for the US to be aggressive in Iraq is that she suffers from low self-esteem. I mean, look what her husband put her through and she is still by his side. She obviously thinks very little of herself. Unfortunately, this personality trait has cascaded over into her professional life. She now expects all of us to be doormats, all in the name of popularity polls. Well, no thank you, Senator Clinton.
Senator Clinton has adopted the belief that Hollywood and the news media have so successfully indoctrinated into our society. She now truly believes that we, the United States of America, are the bad guys. Not bin Laden, not Hussein, not al Sadr. No, we are the enemy. And the only solution is for us to tuck tail and run. To go back to our corner and sit quietly while the rest of the world gets on with the business of living. Oh, and write a few checks once in awhile.
She does admit that we are succeeding in Afghanistan, and willingly concedes that if we pull out of there, anarchy will occur. So she suggests a build up of troops in Afghanistan, just until things settle down. But as for Iraq, she says she feels that the Iraqi government has proven itself incapable of running things so, of course, we should leave. What?
Now, I just about had a conniption fit when I heard that. Even my 8 year old look confused. Send more troops in to where we are succeeding and pull troops out of where we are not. Huh?
Well, this led to a very interesting conversation between my daughter and I on our way to what will remain an unnamed retailer because I vowed not to shop there anymore, seeing as how they hire too many non-English speaking people. She asked me why we are in a war and why do some people think we should leave before we win. I explained it like this
"You remember the day those big buildings fell down because those planes hit them, right? Well, we were able to find out who sent those evil men to hurt us. Our President and Congress decided that one of the ways to prevent that from ever happening again was to go to war against the nations that allow evil people to live there." (This led to an even more interesting conversation about what is a sovereign nation but I won't bore you with the details.) "Now, our President then found out that not only the one nation was responsible, but that a whole
