the cacophonous silent
screaming inside
bursting arteries and veins
inside shriveled cortex
throbbing spaces vent
dreams of - that died
cheeks that bare no stains
years of tears dried without rest
standing up
wind that stirs in a hollow log
shattered nerves that twitch
rising up
again without reason - a wretched dog
scattered scars unstitched
this that it was
this is all there was
before it drew this decade's breath
this ache for love
a small sting that wants love
was all that kept it from death's step
it stood as a man
it flew as a god
but now it was damned
and groped and crawled
it searched
and begged
for perhaps a touch
that would pretend love
that would lie to it
that would trick it into bliss
one hope~light that was lit
that led it to one true kiss
embrace of ecstasy that yawned
and was the spark
that blazed the sleeping fire
that craved an eden - long gone
wrath awoken in the dark
that crazed its primal desire
so many chains bind
so many lies blind
so much blood spilling
so much hunger - unfull~filling
and a fire each place to gaze
and in each back a poisoned blade
what a dangerous place for true love
what a freakish space - so many unloved
the soul~shattered silent
howling beside
each broken one not holding hands
awaiting a whip-crack for what is next
sobbing faces twist~bent
hopes of - that tried
rivers without rains
days and days of wondering what's left
and on two feet
on four
on six
they stood and gawked at atrocity
and on more feet
they rose up for this
sleeping eyes burned wide open finally
screaming the screams
of a thousand lifetimes
dreaming the dreams
that died before they were born this time
and climbing
broken soldiers
awake and starving for truth
and rising
shattered souls - awaiting orders
clenching fist and tooth
it knew something now
though not much
but is grew somehow now
and rage
was enough
the edge of a blade
that was free to carve
a life for today
for it and they
to survive

Poetry: Pain & rage
Overflowing with rage, as he sits and he thinks,
of the horrible things that they've done.
Of the acts that have hurt, and
Pain and rage
A bad mix
At the best of times
Red mist is what I see
In front of my eyes
Pain blanks out reason
You don't
There is no end
And there's no where to start
No means to build
So we tear it apart
We scream our own names
Out in the air
Thinking
You say I cannot feel your pain. No one can, you say.
And you are enraged. It grows stronger everyday.
Stretched taught and
by Dan Williams
Years have gone by many
We move through life in stride
Will you ever see your errors
As your life is lived in lies
Shadows follow
