Can God ever become personal with us? Can we become personal with God? Can we have a personal relationship with God?
I feel that my own relationship with God is certainly personal if God really does after all exist, and if I am not just being personal to another hidden part of myself. If God really existed, and if my relationship with him wasn't personal, I wouldn't be interested in that sort of God anyway. I only ever want a personal God, and a personal relationship with him, or her.
Personally speaking, you have a personal relationship with me, and with God right now. What is personal, but relating one on one to another person or entity, or soul? As you, you only become personal with God, when you look at God in a personal way. And so you attract the personal side of God to you then, to have that personal relationship with God that you want.
God is all things to all people.
Personality wise, God is not personal to anyone, not even to himself, but he becomes personal to you, as you become personally personal to yourself. Ask yourself the deepest of personal questions, and you will find that God always becomes part of the answer for you to you, from yourself and from God.
Deep personal parts of yourself are seen to be the God in you, and so they answer to you as God. God is in you and you are in God, how more personal could this ever become, this relationship of yours and Gods.
For anything to become personal, we must inject our own personality into it.
For example, in our letter writing to a friend. Writing a personal letter is about character building. You show yourself so that you can be yourself, and allow the intimate levels of love to reach across the channels of karma forever embedded in family relationships, only until love points out the lessons, only to be learned from being yourself, and not acting from the karma influencing you to continue its action in your relating to the other person.
It is very similar in building a personal relationship with God, we need to be our real self to do this.
If we allow our karma, beliefs, doubts, and personal ego agenda's to build a picture of God for us, this is not really creating God as he is, but is projecting ourselves onto him, and creating our God in our own image of him. It is seeing God, only as we want to see him. We need to be entirely only ourselves, in our uniqueness of soul, rather than adding extra bits to ourselves, from our beliefs, and from our karma.
If we can drop everything that we are not, we will be left with who we in fact really are.
Being our true self, without any distractive preconceived thoughts, is the way to personally know God. God shows himself to us when we are not blocking the view with our own projections, and this is even including our hopes about what we want to be there for us. Give up wanting and just be what you see, and you will find God being what he is for you then as well.
This will, and can only be for you, a personal God for you then.
God reveals a personality that is connected to the ultimate pool of freshness of love growing towards, and in all souls. Love becomes personal, distinctively personal, from out of its great impersonal ocean of itself, only when we immerse our self fully into its waters.
We are always of course already in the ocean of love, but we are not recognising ourselves getting wet, or being affected by it, until we accept God personally. We can accept God personally when we accept and recognise ourselves fully personally as well. This is God realisation, to know personally God. God is personal with you, when awarely you see him everywhere, and especially in yourself.
By recognising that God is personally involved in your life, gratitude and thankfulness then springs into growth from the love of this connection to a mirror of the mountainous personality that inhabits God, and which is now recognised to be you in him, in you. The truth then is that God is in you, and you are in him, and to recognise and own this connection, is to personally accept the connection, and to personally know God personally, and gratefully at home in your heart.
This mirror of God, is really only us. This mirror is us, and reflects God back to us, and us to our outside world.
This mirror is the lens of light being projected towards you from God. You can be the mirror to reflect God's qualities within yourself by greeting God personally. The alternative is for you to allow the mirror of your soul to cloud over with the sorrows of your linkless personal connections to God, and to other souls. The mirror only needs personality, you looking at it personally to see a true picture within it, otherwise it is only ever seen as a dead and lifeless representational picture, and not as the living light of God personally revealing itself to you, for you.
All of this has a personal meaning for you and for me. The fullest meaning of your own personally being you, and personally relating to God, is to have God in your heart, by you being in your heart as well. You have to be home to receive someone personally, and God is always knocking at the personal door of your heart, in your soul.
If I didn't have a personal relationship with God, I feel I would not be fully alive. My personal relationship with God, is my hope that my life has meaning, and actually it gives its meaning.
Meaning comes only personally to anyone when they become personal with the meaning coming towards them. Acting from impersonality towards anything can never bring a satisfactory meaning to you. This is because your soul only has meaning when it is revealed to be contained within and functioning as a part of the greater meaning and person of God. God is all, and he can become personal with you, only when you allow this personally to take place.
This is your freedom of being you, to allow God in, or to leave him out. Personally speaking you can not leave him out, except by blocking your personal relationship with him from utilising the free will that he has given you.
Eventually the lack of meaning and of love, and from where all real meaning comes from, will allow you to begin to again look for this missing personal relationship with God. And so you will go looking for God personally, and you will find God only by becoming personal with him. Perhaps this will be in your dreams, or in your beginning meditation, or even from simply praying to God, or writing to him in your journal. He will begin to answer you, as you begin to listen to him. And at this stage, you will know that God and you have become personal towards each other again now at long last.
How can I have a personal relationship with a God that is largely unknown to me?
Personal relationships are based on the truth that all relationships are personal. All souls are linked to other souls and to God. This is the truth, but how do you translate this abstract truth into a personal truth? Simply by loving God, and by loving all other souls. As soon as you begin to love, the one that is loved then becomes personal to you.
This is because you now share your life with the loved one, and so you begin trusting them to be with you at all times, and you start believing in their existence for you, because you have now made this love personal, by feeling the power of the connection that this love brings to you from God, and that you then return to God personally.
To develop a personal relationship with God, become personal with God, and the way to do this is to love God. When you love God, you will feel him closer to you then, and he then becomes so close to you, that he is now personal to you.
