Motivation is a way of refreshing one's perspective on negative thoughts to uplift an impatient mind by feeding it with energetic and enthusiastic thoughts of upcoming success. We all need motivation, internal as well as external, to breathtakingly devote ourselves towards the strategic growth of the organization we work for.
Employees are the pillar and rich resource of an organization where they always seek recognition for their performance and contribution.
"An employees' motivation is a direct result of the interactions with their managers" this simple quotation says so many things. Employers or managers should have a psychological contract, which helps in balancing and maintaining the basic but valuable and effective performance of employees, right away from the time of making them a part of the organization, where individual needs should be taken care of because all people love to be there where they are felt to be cared.
To keep employees motivated in their acts and responsibilities, employers should incorporate some leadership qualities:
Employers should be unfailingly polite and extremely down to earth. If they are verbally wound, nobody would like to be with them. Therefore, they have to throw their pretending and high sounding words in the verbal wastebasket. In a nutshell, they have to achieve mastery in relation building.
They should follow the great saying "Praise loudly and blame softly" to keep employees' spirit high and optimistic.
"Error is only the opportunity to begin again, more intelligently" so employees should be given chance to experiment, and their failure should be honerly welcomed so that they take initiatives and promotional steps to make it successful. They should teach how to fail intelligently because failure is another name of success given by negative people.
Goal should be explicitly defined to employees so that they could make a blueprint in their mind to develop their excellencies to give it a real shape.
Briefly, they should involve employees in some motivational activities as highly motivated people are genuinely capable of bringing the glorious and revolutionary change at workplace. They are always active, productive and devoted to their duties.
Above-discussed qualities are required for employers but there must be some opportunities for employees also to positively influence their work.
