Thankless job that never ends
Mother, counselor, my best friend
The one who dried countless tears
Changed the diapers, calmed my fears
Saved her dollars to meet my needs
In my foundation she planted seeds
Of faith and hope and unconditional love
Of unsung heroes she will rise above
Through the ins and outs of every day
Never too busy to listen or play
She raised me up to believe that I can
Back in the womb is where it began
Selflessly giving me room to grow
Then setting me free like an arrow from a bow
Encouraging and guiding and cheering all along
Kissing my boo-boos and singing a song
The great comforter in times of need
Of all God's creations, Mother is the finest breed
The one who knows you better than you do yourself
She puts your broken pieces together & tenderly sets you high on a shelf
Mom holds your hand when you can't do it alone
Never too busy to pick up the phone
She knows just what you need, no matter the case
In her arms is always the safest place
She would fight to her death to protect and defend
There is nothing on earth her skilled hands cannot mend
She is loyal, trustworthy, patient and kind
She's the pick of the litter and I'm so thankful she's mine!
A hero is someone courageous and strong
She's noble, grandiose, and can do no wrong
Her merits are many and recognition few
There is nothing, for her children, she wouldn't do
From the tallest mountain to the depths of the sea
Mother has given herself for me
To walk in her footsteps is life's hardest task
The light of her presence is where I will bask
Soaking up her goodness like the sun at the beach
Hoping and praying that like her I can teach
My children the way...to be gentle and kind
To share their toys and speak their mind
Watch eachother's back and lend a helping hand
Honor the gift of family and travel the land
To love their neighbor even if he's a beast
Open your door and share your feast
Give to the poor as much as you can give
Find your calling and step into the life you are meant to live
Say sorry and mean it if you make a mistake
Accept the forgiveness & give others a break
Mother taught me these things and millions more
She's a hero among heroes, a life changer to the core
Praise God for mothers...precious gifts of His grace
In the presence of Mom is the world's finest place
If you have a mother, hug her today
Remember her love and forget her mistakes
Praise her efforts and her selfless ways
Tell her that she's your hero today!
