While many people look down on the idea of selling mixed breeds, you have to take into consideration the money that is spent raising a litter of puppies. When puppies are born, it doesn't matter if they are a pure breed or a mixed breed. Every litter has the same needs.
There is a lot put into each and every litter of puppies born. You have to buy them food, shots, and spend plenty of time making sure they are properly socialized. With the amount of time and money put into raising a litter of puppies, there is no reason why you should not be a loud to make back some of the money put into raising the puppies.
.There's people that breed dogs just to make money, this is wrong. If you are putting a small price on your puppies to regain loses, that is a smart move on your part. If you are breeding dogs hoping to make a lot of money, you should think of another means of income.
When you charge a small fee for your puppies, not only does it help cut your losses but it helps filter out homes that are unsuitable for a puppy. Many people who neglect their animals are looking for their next free pet. By charging this small fee for your puppies, these people are less likely to want a puppy from you. This leads to more puppies being placed in good homes.
True animal lovers do not buy dogs based off of their breed. They buy dogs that they have a connection with. Dogs are man's best friend but many times man can be dog's worse enemy. Many people who look for free animals do not have the means to properly care for an animal.
No animal should be free. I say this because I am a firm believer in giving animals a good life. Many people see dog's only as a pet while the rest of us consider our animal's part of the family. When there is a fee for dogs, many people are turned off by this. Many of these people are the ones that do not provide a good life to their animals. This does not mean that all people who take free pets treat them bad. Some of them love their pets to death and would do anything in their power to give them the best lives possible.
When you are selling a mixed breed you must remember that they are not worth a lot of money. Chances are you will not be able to make back all the money you put into the liter. However, you will make back a good portion of the money put in and you will know that your dogs have a much better chance of ending up in a lifetime home and knowing this makes it well worth everything that has been put into the puppies.
