Another stereotypical comment. Pit bulls are a naturally loving dog. They aren't given enough credit. All dogs are naturally nice so, what's wrong with this one particular breed? Absolutely nothing, These dogs don't choose to act like this. They are forced to act like this.

Now ask yourself if your dog had bad training, could they go mad as well and start killing livestock or even people? I believe they could. Pit bulls don't have this madness coded specifically for them in their genes. Bad behavior, now that's a different story, every dog has that coded for them. Rough housing with other dogs is fine. They won't kill each other.

I'd say the only difference between most dogs and Pit bulls, is they are more muscular and scary looking. I have met some very loving Pit bulls. They were so lovable I might have chosen them over Great Danes.

Does the term "Dog fights" ring a bell? Of course it does. This is what Pit bulls are most associated with. Thank you Dog Fighters, you've ruined a perfectly wonderful breed. This brings me back to what I have previously stated, Pit bulls are naturally lovable dogs.

Owners are at fault here, don't blame the innocent dogs. So murderous beasts is definitely out of the picture. Dogs who are treated badly are gonna act badly. Pit bulls mainly because they are so muscular, get treated worse than other breeds.

Mentally and Physically these dogs endure substantial amounts of abuse just to make the owner happy. Doing this to these dogs would have to be one cold-hearted task, if you ask me. All dogs are supposed to man's best friend, excluding Pit bulls. Wrong and undignified is what the accusation is!

How many times do you hear Pit bulls attacking anything, unless they were treated badly or associated with dog fights. Not many, would be my guess.

Now, don't get me wrong I'm sure the dogs would very well protect their family or anything special to them, but that doesn't mean they attack every little thing. All dogs are protective over whatever is near and dear to them. For instance, if someone was to take your wallet or even your car keys or maybe even a family member, you would be protective. Wouldn't you?

It's exactly the same for dogs. Thanks to every stereotypical plague that has spread to people's minds, these dogs are made out to be ravenous, murderous creatures. When the truth is they are just as gentle as any other breed of dogs.

So thank you stereotypical comments. Thank you dog fights and Michael Vick. And thank you owners who are too self-centered and cynical to think about how your hurting your dog.

Next time you get the urge to talk about any kind of dog being dangerous, Check your own. You never know, what you find may surprise you. So let's not pick on one specific breed, lets not pick on any breed at all. Dogs are who they are and that's all they can be! So to answer the debate, Pit bulls are sweet and gentle, therefore are definitely man's best friend!
