Why future dads should attend childbirth classes

As an expectant Daddy, having a hands-on approach from the beginning will increase the depth and integrity of your father/child relationship. Parenting is no longer just a mother's pursuit. Modern men are invited and welcomed into every aspect of their child's life. As a society, we've come to acknowledge the influential role fathers play but there is so much more both parents and baby gain from childbirth classes.

1. For Baby

Your baby goes through an incredible transformation in the nine months from his conception. Nurtured and protected in Mommy's womb he has an opportunity to bond and connect with his mother but it is firmly believed that the environment outside the womb impacts emotional and physical growth and development also.

Childbirth classes offer Dad-time. The warm, giving environment is both calming and interesting to your unborn child. You interact directly as an encouraging support. Your baby begins to recognise your voice and even at this early stage he depends on you to be a solid role model and protective guide into the world.

2. For Mommy

Pregnancy is a challenging ordeal for every woman. Being able to share the joys and the miseries of those nine long months with a considerate and caring partner can transform the experience for the mother of your child. Birth classes can be daunting for expectant mothers. Learning the often terrifying reality of labor, the dangers to mother and child, and the many tips and techniques designed to get both through safely, is daunting.

As a loving partner and caring father your strength and support means a great deal. These classes are also an opportunity to understand what your partner will experience and the best way you can share that experience with her. It is a remarkable way to bond as an expectant couple.

3. For Daddy

This opportunity is one all prospective fathers should embrace.

* A break from the breadwinning grind.
* A chance to meet other expectant parents.
* Become familiar with expectations of your partners coming labor.
* A step toward sharing responsibility for your child's wellbeing.
* An opportunity to ask questions and share history.
* A way to stay informed and aware of your families wellbeing.
* An embrace of your changing lifestyle and status.
* A learning experience and education.
* Increased intimacy with your partner.
* A strengthened bond with your child.
* A sense of security and certainty of your future.
* and so much more.

Show your commitment to your child's future by being there for them today.
