"Jack, when are you going to put down that guitar?" asked Jennie. Jack looked up at his beautiful young wife. Every time he looked at her, his heart skipped a beat. How could such a gorgeous girl like Jennie fall in love with him? He put his guitar on the couch and walked up to her. As he wrapped his arms around her, she giggled and reached up to kiss his cheek. "We have to be at LAX in an hour. My parents called. They will be picking us up at Bush Intercontinental Airport tonight."

Jack winced. "Uh, Baby, I have to tell you something," he began gingerly. "The band has a chance to play for the talent agents from Music One Records tonight over in Los Angeles. We have a chance for a big recording contract with them. Before you say anything, I've thought about it and you can fly out to Texas tonight and I can drive and meet you there on Thursday."

Jennie looked at her husband. "How long have you known about this?"

"Since yesterday," he replied. She looked at him with her big brown eyes. "Honey, I know the band is good and you are a great guitarist, but this is Thanksgiving, you know, family time?"

"Hey, you knew I was a musician when you married me." retorted Jack.

"Yes, I did. That's why I fell in love with you." cooed Jennie.

"Save my place at the table, ok?" Jack asked.

That night, Jack packed his suitcase and his guitar into the trunk of his car. When he arrived at Music One, the rest of the band was warming up.

"Hey, dude, it's about time you got here. We're up in fifteen minutes," the bass player informed him.

"I'll be ready," he replied.

After they played, one of the agents walked over and said, "I don't like to waste time. I like what I heard and I am ready to offer you a recording contract. If you want to let your lawyer look over it, we will be ready to sign you on after the Thanksgiving holidays." The band thanked him and the agent walked away. As soon as he was out of the room, the band cheered and jumped around.

"I need to call my wife!" Jack shouted but then he remembered that she was on a plane to Texas. "I'll call her later," he thought. The band continued the celebration at a nearby restaurant. By the time Jack drove to the Interstate and headed toward Texas,
