Mimi
I wonder through the gardens, in my silken black suit, sniffing at the air, brushing against the flowers to expose the freshness of their scent. I skip to one side as the loose ball that belongs to a group of playing children, hurtles it's way in my direction.
I sit in the sun and soak up it's rays, I hear the quiet, I feel the warmth of this bright and sunny summers day.
When the evening draws in near, I visit upon my neighbors, we share a beverage and some little supper bites, engage in polite conversation. Before I say my gratuitous goodbyes and move along to repeat the ritual next door, a somewhat tedious and fattening ritual that is repeated each and every day.
I do feel the importance of being neighborly, and all but one in this neighborhood will expect their own personal visit from myself each day. When I am done and feeling very full, I take myself home, make myself comfortable and sleep until late next morning. When I arise from my slumber I stretch every limb, and I look out of the window to see what state of weather we are in, I look up and down the neighborhood to see who is about today, and ponder over when I will make my visits to my lovely neighborly friends.
Before I venture into the days open air, I groom and preen and make myself look presentable for public viewing. I slowly amble down the stairs and say good morning to my house hold. I sit and eat my breakfast and enjoy my morning milk, I wander into the living room, and take a look around, I wonder if I should sit on the sofa, or go into the garden and sit in the sun. I decide I will sit in the garden and wander outside. I sit amongst my favorite flowers and watch the butterflies flutter through the air. I listen to the children next door splashing in their paddling pool, then I have a little doze and wake up in the midday sun.
I wander back into the house at see that no-ones home, so I decide to go about my duty and commence with my neighborly rounds. I walk down the street to start at number one, and am greeted in the same old way, with a pat on the head and a "Hello, Mimi old boy" as I am handed down my milk and nibbles before saying goodbye. I carry on all through my round, until I am finally home. There I will curl up on a lap and wait until tomorrow, when I will do the whole thing over again. It's such a busy life for me, and fat I most certainly am, but being such a busy cat, I'm sure my owner won't mind.
