Poetry: Prostitution

"Complicated Design of Emptiness"

Lust and perversions become acceptable
Driven by a cavernous internal need
Thirstily catching the trickle
Gesticulation's overflow of greed

Nameless prostitute
Scattered skull
Made of fine porcelain
War-painted and adorned to gratify

One size fits all
Dropping to all fours
Succumbing to distorted demands
From scum to the most prominent

Discretion worn and spent
Gyrating form radiating pretentious heat
For a moment of half-worship
from the eyes of a stranger

Nauseating scent of cheap liquor
Moving against
Lips pursed and taut
Body wedged open and torn
Chain-fastened wrists
Moans in the language of the dead
As secrets and dreams are held below her tongue

Soul soiled in chosen paths
Walking on the dust of lovers' hearts
Wondering what brought her here
Beneath the face of hunger
Keeping vigil at the tomb of death
Contaminated...
Trying to silence the memories

Queen of the night
Beheaded in the alley
as life was leisurely poisoned
And the red light continues to burn
Fiercely
in a Complicated design
...of emptiness

    God's loving hand,
