The benefits of Chiropractic are so many that I don't know where to start!
So I will start at the beginning! Some fifty years ago, my late brother in law Dr Rudy who had been a prisoner of war in Germany, decided to use the GI bill of rights to become an Attorney; But his mother in law, a wise old lady named Aunt Ida, still spry and alert for her age in her then early nineties, suggested to him that he should become a Chiropractor instead. And since she looked great for her age, (having used nothing but Chiropractic since it's beginning,) he took her up on it and he became a D.C.
Now I was just a young mother then with an infant, who took sick after a shot of penicillin; And having gone to about 10 M.D's plus the Philadelphia Children's Hospital (where my daughter came out with a cold !) No one was able to help her nor even would admit that the penicillin had been the cause of her sickness! I was getting desperate, until the day Dr Rudy (who was still in College ) suggested that I should take my baby to a Chiropractor. I did, he was a kind old man by the name of Dr Kayle in Trenton N.J. and I shall never forget him.
Imagine my joy when soon after a few adjustments, (as the treatments are called.) my daughter was on the road to recovery and totally cured! Even I could not believe it!. And so knowing a good thing when I saw one... my husband then decided that he too would follow in his brother's footsteps: So we moved from Florida to San Antonio Texas, where the College was then located. But upon arriving there, I started to have female problems, I thought I needed a Gynecologist ; But my husband (that smart man) insisted I see his own professor at school instead..Imagine my surprise when the good Doctor there who was a Mormon by the name of Dr Turley-asked me if I had been lifting heavy stuff? "Yes" I admited , I had helped with lifting our furniture in the moving van.
So he adjusted me, and my problem dissapeared the next day..and so on it went... until today nearly sixty years later and now in my early eighties, I have used nothing else but Chiropractic. I am lucky in that unlike the old days, Insurances Cies now pay for adjustments..not out of benevolence mind you, but simply because they realized that a worker or anyone who get treated by a D.C. will not require operations or drugs, and will be back on the job much sooner! Dumb they are not!
And finally I am appaled at our Govt today, and how it pays for people who are sick and are running Medicaire in the red..when they instead should teach them- how to stay and be well with alternative medicines... As Millions of Mormons, 7th day Adventist, Jehovahs' Witnesses, Christian Scientists and many others are quietly doing every day, on on their own, and without fanfare!
But as they say that's another story!
PS: As of last count we have eleven D.C. in our family, the latest one my grandson Austin now in School in Georgia -who will then be the 3d generation. Aunt Ida would have been proud.
