Let's trade places,
just for one day
So that I can understand
Why you say what you say
Why you speak of such things
That may never come true
But you make me believe
In me and you.
Let's trade places,
this could be fun
You can worry and cry
And I can play dumb
You can question your decisions,
Your self-worth, your past
And I can just kick back,
watch the game and relax.
Let's trade places,
This could be intense.
Maybe we can take all this mess
And make it make sense
If we flipped the switch
And saw into each other's heads
We can keep this love alive
Before we both end up dead.
Let's trade places
And walk a mile in each other's shoes.
You can see why I'm tired,
Tired of being used.
I can see why you do this
Without much remorse
And then maybe we'll realize
This relationship has run it's course.
If we could trade places,
Just for one day
Would we like who we are?
Would things be the same?
Would it take that much
For us to see
That maybe we just were never
Meant to be.

I See
I see my dreams
They speak to me
Telling me who I am
Calling out to me
Telling me of things past
Allowing me to speak
