Do you remember how wonderful it was to be a child? A time when you didn't question the existence of anything; of course there was a Santa Claus! Yes, that money really did come from the Tooth Fairy, who else? When we were small, everything was bigger than we were so it wasn't much of a leap to believe that there were things in this world bigger than humanity all together. But as we aged it became clear that we were going to have to shoulder more and more responsibilities, and as that happened we got a little too big for our own pants. Some people describe it as becoming "jaded." Whatever it was that occurred, it shrunk the world around us. Our own problems and concerns grew to gigantic proportions and cast the rest of the world into shadow. Some people have been able to step back and really take a good look at their place in the world. Many of these same people also happen to still believe in mythical creatures.
They must be nuts right? Well if they insist that they rode a unicorn just as solid as a Doberman, then yes they're probably a tad off their rocker. There are however, people who are just as sane as the next guy, who believe in mythical creatures as energy forms and not actual "creatures." The concept can get a little hazy for people whose belief system doesn't recognize the possibility for nature to have a spirit of its own. Then are the people who stand squarely in a scientific frame of mind, and even then there are two camps- the side that is sure that science will prove the existence of otherworldly beings, and the side that is positive that if those things existed then we'd have scientific proof already.
So do mythical creatures exist?
Some people find the answer to this question irritating. The reason is because the answer isn't as clear cut as they'd like. A good place to start is to ask yourself what you believe in. Do you believe that humans have souls? How about animals? The next logical question is whether or not you feel that there is an "afterlife" of some sort. If you can say "yes" to all three of those questions, then you believe that an intelligent energy does not need a body to contain it. So it would follow that if someone you trusted told you that they encountered an entity made purely of energy would you be able to discount it?
The question you would then ask that person is how they know they've encountered something. Maybe they heard a noise or they were suddenly touched and can't explain what it was. Perhaps they saw something out
