Why are dogs man's best friend? Well, it's simple. As soon as we look at them, your heart has no choice but to melt. When I hear people say the longer you have a dog, the more you start to resemble it, i wouldn't doubt it. They're just all around great creatures.Here are some of the reasons:

Compassion, it's a major trait every dog has. When dogs are aggresive its not thier fault, blame their owners. Dogs are naturally lovely animals. But just because i've stated that, this doesn't mean they won't protect their family! Anyways, If you've ever had a bad day at work and you came home to that sweet face, it had to put you in a better mood. Their definetely good for that!

As i've mentioned before they may be lovable, but they will protect, which brings me to another reason. Protection is probably the most dominant trait a dog could inherit. Dogs will protect anything that belongs to them, if it's something as big as their family or house, or something small like their food or toys! Thats the thing most owner's work up too much. It's helpful when its the right amount, balanced.

When you have a day you just feel like crying or laying around all day, its helpful to have someone you know will always be there, Right? Thats why we have dogs. They're just great friends, thus the best friend name given to them. I mean when a dog runs up to you and licks your face after you've been crying you can't help but to smile! They've got a warmth to them no other creature could provide to make you happy.

Now, for the people who's children are grown and gone. I know your lonely. This brings me back to being a great companion. When you go on a fishing trip or work out in the park, who better to bring than the great dane or teacup chihuahua! They can keep up, and don't break your concentration by talking! What more could you want?

Think about it! Wouldn't you want all these qualities in a human Best friend, Protection, being able to make you smile, Companionship, and compassion? I would to me thats a perfect best friend.I'm not saying dogs are the perfect best friends, but they are close to it. Dogs love to be your best friend, Give them a chance!

What could it hurt? Absolutely nothing, other than a few spots on your carpet! That's why i think dogs are called man's best friend! They don't seem like much, but really they're a package of everything you wanted in a friend that you've never expected to come!
