The Man known as "The Prophet Of Peace"
Was violently taken away from you and me
He told us In 1963 that he had a dream
Martin had the courage to march on Selma
For the civil rights of all races
He preached non violence to you and me
He worked hard to set people free
He said that he had been to the mountain top
And that God had allowed him to

Martin took a lot of people by the hand
He bravely marched In protest
Against an unpopular war
His voice Is stilled forever more
How we still need him now
Like never before
