If the dead really rise again, then who will Jesus come to judge at the end of time after he has risen the dead? This question has haunted me for years. Have you ever said to yourself, "If there is life after death, then surely my love one will communicate with me?" So many people are disappointed when they never hear from anyone who has passed away.
The answer is very simple. No, there is no life after death NOW, but there will be after the dead are resurrected for judgment.
Mediums often see and speak to the dead. It isn't always a matter of them being fraudulent. Many people claim to have genuine gifts of speaking with spirits. That's the key phrase; Speaking with spirits'. If we know and accept that the dead are not yet raised, then who are these people speaking to? These people are speaking with demons that are imitating our dead and, naturally, they know things that only our dead would know because they have watched us for thousands of years.
Suppose for one moment that the ghosts of the dead were floating around us and had missed there exit out of this world to go to the next. Don't you think that we would all be plagued by poltergeist? People die every day by the millions on every part of this planet. Fortunately it seems that the ghostly activities only occur in homes were the inhabitants acknowledge spirits and foster their presents. This is because these are weak believers that are easily manipulated and open invitations for demon activity.
We will rise again, but we won't be turned into angels. It is a common misconception that when people die they become angels. Well, that's about the same as saying that when you die, you become a cat or a butterfly, because they are a creation all of their own. Angels are Angels and butterflies are butterflies as humans are humans; never one to become the other.
If truly one adheres to the tenets of the Christian belief system, then we really don't need to worry about whether or not we rise again immediately, only that at an appointed time we will be raised from the dead and be beckoned to judgment.
"And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Also another book was opened, the book of life. And the dead were judged according to their works, as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and all were judged according to what they had done. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire; and anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire." Revelations 20:12-15 NRV
