Subject matter like this one has only one real answer and common sense should dictate our response. However, based on individual writing skills it will be typed, corrected, paraphrased and plagiarized so all can read what we already know. This answer is not rocket science and I am sure most responses will be similar in nature with a tweek or two here and there. However, I have chosen to add my thoughts on the subject because sometimes common sense evades even the best of us. So, keep this in mind; if you find anyone that can't give you positive reasons to why a stable home is important to a child, lock your doors, hide your children, and ask them which one of their first cousins did they marry. Poor judgment never changes it stripes!
Stability is defined as: the state or quality of being stable, especially:
Resistance to change, deterioration, or displacement.
Constancy of character or purpose; steadfastness.
Reliability; dependability.
A stable home gives a child the sense of safety and security from knowing there is a consistency in their life. It lets them know, where they are, where they are going, what to expect, and the support of those around them that will make sure that life's up and downs are dealt with compassion and love. If they make mistakes, run off course, need a lift, need a hug, or just plan quiet time, they know there is a place where people smart enough, strong enough and loving enough will be there with the support needed. Stable homes build personal character and instill a strong value system that allows a child to understand the relationship and bonds of the family unit. It shows right from wrong and creates positive behavior in dealing with the world around them. It lets them know that when they run into bumps in the road' and difficult hurdles to climb, they have a strong support system in place to overcome adversity, as well as, to share the successes that life also brings. A stable environment as the definition states above, will allow a child to develop a character of reliability, dependability and avoid deterioration of purpose. It nurtures the solidarity of being part of a family and adds the warmth of a stable environment.
Here's a cute anecdote to this article with my sense of humor. This is a perfect example for horse owners to follow since we are talking about stables. Since horses already have a home in a stable, if they are treated right, they can have a stable stable' home! Come on now, that's funny! Okay, I tried!
