Eat healthy, live longer

Eating a diet rich in fruit, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, fish and poultry can help you to live longer. Eating a diet poor in nutrition, high in fat, sugar, salt and remiss of vitamins can cause you to die earlier than expected due to heart disease, cancer, poor health, and a multitude of health related problems.




A recent study by Harvard University found that a diet rich in fruit, veggies, whole grains, legumes, fish and poultry could help you live longer. The University found that the women in the study were 17 percent less likely to die during the 18-year study period. And they also found that the women were 28 percent less likely to die of heart disease or stroke by following this diet.




The study proves that the foods you eat can help you live longer or they can cause, you to die young. A diet with plenty of red meats lacking in fruits and vegetables is known to cause women and men to develop heart disease, cancer and other health related problems.




Eating a diet rich in healthy foods can increase the blood flow, decrease the risk of cancer and heart disease and keep your bones and body moving risk free for years to come. Healthy food creates energy in your body, and keeps everything in proper working order. By eating the right foods, you can live longer and you can help your body keep from aging faster than it should.




Did you know that you could eat chocolate to aid in your quest to live a long, healthy life? But it has be the right kind of chocolate, not just any kind. Dark Chocolate that has 70 percent or more cocoa in it, and no more than 5 percent sugar grams, has many healthful antioxidants contained its dark rich chewy goodness. It actually has twice the amount of antioxidants than red wine, and three times more than green tea. Dark chocolate increases dopamine levels in your body and it has healthy flavonoids that keep your arteries clear reducing blood pressure.




Berries pack a powerful punch of nutrient action that can help you live longer. Blueberries are some of the richest containing vitamin-fortified berries in the world. They are actually called the anti- aging berry because they help to improve heart function, boost the immune system and stimulate the brain as well as help to fight cancer. Blueberries are rich in antioxidants such as vitamins a and c.




Acai berries are even more powerful than blueberries because they have two times the disease fighting antioxidant power that blueberries carry under that blue skin. Acai berries add to your overall energy level, help to regulate cholesterol levels, and improve circulation. You can have acai berries in many forms such as; tea, juice, and powder. You can also drink several beneficial green tea that is loaded with antioxidants with vitamins such as A, C and E. But, eating these berries is actually better for you.




Eating a diet rich in healthy nuts will expand your lifeline also. Almonds are the most nutritious nuts of all. They help to lower cholesterol, regulate blood pressure, and prevent osteoporosis. Almonds also will lower the risk of cancer, diabetes, and even stave off Alzheimer's for years to come. Walnuts are also one of the best nuts to consume, because they contain a great deal of protein. Walnuts also have high amounts of omega-3 fatty acids that help fight heart disease.




Foods to avoid in your quest for longevity are a lot of red meat, high fat foods, high sugar foods, processed foods, and high salt foods. Natural foods are the best without all those cancer-causing chemicals found within. Stock your refrigerator with fruits and veggies and plenty of fish and healthy water to live a long and healthy life.
