Poetry: Empty words

by Chris Lewis

Created on: November 21, 2008

Hands, crawling down my knees

thoughts heard well beyond my mind

laughter muffled deep inside the brain

empty words with private gestures

tears fall gently down my face

as sadness wells deep inside my soul

thoughts keep rushing past my mind

thoughts that cannot be bound by human hands

words that fly from empty ladles

words without a deeper meaning.
