Our astrological signs are determined by the month and day of the year we were born. Since ancient times, these star signs have been given separate characteristics and personality traits. Researching our own particular star signs can give us insight into ourselves and give us a basis starting point for spiritual growth and emotional development. Learning the basics of the other star signs can give us an edge when dealing with others, giving us a broad basic understanding of their personalities and how they might tend to react in any given situation.

ARIES (March 21- April 19) - Aries is a fire sign and they tend to be high-spirited and enthusiastic. They tend to be fiercely loyal, highly idealistic, and impatient. They are quick to anger, and just as quick to forgive.

TAURUS (April 20- May 20) - Taurus is an earth sign and are usually quietly determined and sensible individuals who never give up. They are patient and persistent. They are often sensual, with an interest in the arts. Home and hearth are very important to them. They can be over possessive and resistant to change.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20) - Gemini is an air sign and are eternal students. They are very intelligent, multitalented, and have a love of talk. They can find it hard to concentrate their full attention on any one thing and can appear to have many personalities and changing moods.

CANCER (June 21- July 22) -Cancer is a water sign and are ruled by their feelings. They are sympathetic and kind, with a strong need to nurture and protect. While having mercurial moods, they are for the most part shy. They are masters at passive resistance and are naturally intuitive or mediumistic.

LEO (July 23- August 22) - Leo is a fire sign and tend to be warm, loving, and generous. They love an audience and have a childlike playfulness. They are friendly and gregarious, and take charge naturally. They are known for their courage and integrity. They often have trouble with vanity and pride.

VIRGO (August 23- September 22) - Virgo is an earth sign and tend to have a strong work ethic. They are articulate, intelligent, and discriminating. They lean toward perfectionism, in themselves as well as others. They adore order and do not respond well to stupidity or vulgarity. Virgos can often take on more than they can handle and so become stressed.

LIBRA (September 23- October 22) - Libra is an air sign and are diplomats. They are charming with a desire to be popular. They always see the other person's point of view, which
