"How do we know that God exists?" is a question for someone on a spiritual journey whether it is a believer or non-believer. What intrigues me is the certain pull that every human has for the unknown. Even those who call themselves atheist are drawn to the unknown explanations for the universe's revolving forces. Throughout this article, I will make different points in rebuttal of the argument that God doesn't exist. I will also be addressing common arguments used in modern religious conversation.
By this time you may be wondering why I said that asking this question is going on a spiritual journey. The misconception that most people have, even BELIEVERS have is the role play of doubting. Doubt, whether you believe it or not, has a remarkable capacity to strengthen faith. My life is full of divine evidence of God's existence, through my period of doubt!
I grew up in a Southern Baptist church. I gave my life to Christ as the age of 9 but I still had a lot of pondering to do. I did all of the bible studies and Sunday schools but I still wondered about the existence of God as I grew older. As a early teenage Christian I was wondering if I even loved God! From there I went on a spiritual journey to find out if my purpose was divinely inspired. My mom and I left our old church to search for God elsewhere. Both of us had a certain hunger that needed to be satisfied. One day I finally decided to see if God was going to show up. I buried my face in the Bible and prayed constantly seeing if God would arrive. This continued for about a month and then something remarkable happened. Soon after that, my mom and I, started visiting a non-denominational church where the emphasis was mostly upon the moving of the Holy Spirt. It was a wonderful experience being there and seeing more evidence of God. People would prophecy, speak in tongues, become slain by the spirit and more but I still took it with a grain of salt. "Are these people really doing this?" is what I would say to myself frequently. I just didn't know at that time that God was going to show up like I wanted Him. What happened later is something that I will never forget.
I was at the church with my mom and it was during regular service when one of our faithful members began to act very strangely. We have been members for about 6 months and have never seen her act that way before. As the service progressed
