One religion for everyone

One religion for everyone

There is a call from many corners of the world for a global religion. However, to have a one-world religion there is a need to deny the work of Jesus Christ. To understand this one needs to look at the New Testament and see what the Bible has to say about this, and then compare this with other religions to see the reasons Christianity has to remain an exclusive religion with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. First, we will look at a couple of world religions and then compare them to the Word of the Bible and Jesus Himself.

If you look at Islam, you find a religion that states you either accept Islam or die stated as,
"'Fight those who believe not in Allah and his apostle, nor acknowledge the religion of truth [even if they are] people of the book [i.e. Jews and Christians], until they pay with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued [enslaved] '' (Sure 9:29)."
"''Fight and slay the pagans (i.e. non-Muslims) wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them and lie in wait for them in every stratagem; but if they repent ... then open a way for them (Sura 9:123)."
Taking these quotes from the Koran, it seems very unlikely that there could be any accommodations of Christianity and Islam. The Bible says to love your enemies and pray for them and Islam says to kill them if they refuse to submit.

In Hinduism, there is the belief in reincarnation and various deities, which presents problems in trying to unite Christianity and Hinduism.

The Buddhist religion presents it own set of beliefs not compatibly with Christianity.

"Buddhism, like most of the great religions of the world, is divided into a number of different traditions. However, most traditions share a common set of fundamental beliefs.

Buddhism, like most of the great religions of the world, is divided into a number of different traditions. However, most traditions share a common set of fundamental beliefs.

After many such cycles, if a person releases their attachment to desire and the self, they can attain Nirvana. This is a state of liberation and freedom from suffering."

As can be seen there is a dichotomy between the two beliefs that cannot be ignored if one is to be a true believer of the Bible.

Now let us look at what the Bible says, beginning with the words of Jesus in the gospel of John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto them, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." This statement from Jesus Himself does not leave any room for allowing other beliefs into the gospel story. Here is Jesus telling all who will listen and believe that He is the way. There is no other path to God for those who are dead in their sins to find life. There is no truth in us, for He is the truth and through Him we can find that truth and eternal life. Without Him we are dead in our sins, and at the foot of the cross, we find that the blood shed by Jesus on that cross will wash away our sins and we are born again, a new creature in Him and can now come before God as children of God. What other religion can declare this love of the creator towards His creation?
However, this is not the only verse of scripture to proclaim that it is Jesus and Him alone that is the way of salvation, and we will look at a few more now. Let us begin with Ephesians 2:13 "But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ." There is no mistaking whose blood is bringing us nigh. It makes no mention of any person but Christ Jesus and His blood. The next verse which shows that the blood of Jesus is the way to God that we will look at is Hebrews 10:19,"Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus." There are several other verses which show that the blood of Jesus washes away the sins of those who come to Him and believe, Hebrews 12:24, 13:20, 1Peter 1:2, 1John 1:7, Revelation 1:5, and the last one Revelation 17:6. From these verses, it is plain that to enter into the throne room of God one must first be cleansed from sin by being washed in the blood of Jesus.

Now, going back to the subject of this study, "one religion for the world." There is one religion for the world, it is Christianity. This is not a religion as the world sees a religion, where mankind is trying to reach God but this is God coming down to man and providing the salvation man needs to fellowship with his Creator. In Christianity man, does not have to sacrifice anything but simply come to the Jesus and ask Him to wash their sins away and believe that Jesus died for them. This belief is the belief that results in a life given to God and lived for Him, using the bible as the foundation. There is no room for another religion or belief system, because the Bible also states that God is a jealous God and the Ten Commandments say that you will have no other god before you.
