Seven Ways to Cut Out Stress
There is good stress and bad stress. Good stress can motivate us to get things done and to help us focus, while bad stress can bring us health problems and depression. Bad stress must be cut out of our lives, or else we will suffer in the long run. Our lives are meant to be lived and we are not meant to live in pain or torment. There are many ways in which you can cut out stress and here are seven of the best ways to become healthier and stress-free.
Exercise: Exercise can truly decrease stress in your life. If you don't have a gym membership, you might want to consider getting one. This can be a great way to release stress from work or other issues at the end of the day, and you can meet new people as well. If you can't afford the gym membership, then start a daily schedule of walking or running. Stress can be easily decreased with fresh air and exercise.
Breath: Give yourself some time to breath. Stop what you are doing and sit down. Give yourself some deep breaths and relax for 20 minutes or so. You will find this will lower your levels of stress and anxiety. Breathing properly is very important and it provides blood flow to the brain at the right pace.
Talk: Go and talk to a friend. Communication is very important when your stress levels are high. If you talk about what's stressing or bothering you to a family member or trusted friend, you will feel better immediately.
Hobby: Do something you love to do whether it is painting a picture or gardening. Your hobby can completely take your mind of your daily life stresses and make you feel content. Doing what you love is very important in life and it can make you feel free from stress. If you don't have a hobby, create one!
Animals: Playing with a cat or dog can be very therapeutic for humans. If you have a pet, spend some time with them and pet them. They will love you for it. If you have a dog, take it out for a walk. If it's a cold and rainy day, snuggle up with them on the couch. You will feel a lot better for it.
Art Therapy: Art can also be extremely therapeutic and you might enjoy painting, sculpting, glass blowing, coloring, or sketching. Get involved in an art class if you want to get out of the house and meet some other fellow art lovers.
Write or Read: Reading a good book or writing in a journal can truly help with stress. It takes your mind off the hustle and bustle of daily life and can take you to distant worlds where there is no stress. Keeping a journal is also a very good way to vent and get things off your chest if you don't feel like talking to someone about it. Be stress-free, just be.
