Temptation

Here's a tale, sad but true.

The day love lost a fighter,

And left a young girl blue.

Their love was one which was very rare.

Like lovers from a storybook,

They were exactly alike, the perfect pair.

Who would have guessed?

Such a perfect love,

Put to such a cruel test.

How could they have foreseen?

The obstacles the future held,

Such a cruel fate, so rude, so mean.

Although their love was very strong,

Curiosity and temptation

Made each day harder to hold on.

Temptation overwhelms the weakest heart,

While love remains strong inside,

Tears fall, and the pain tears the promise apart.

Lost hopes, shattered dreams,

Broken promises, lonely nights,

Longing the return of the memories.

Temptation was fate's fatal blow,

He was too weak to counter the fight,

If he had fought, he may have won, but now, he'll never know.

He gave in and won an unfaithful night.

The night that ended the happiness,

And began the clock of pain,

The night that caused her loneliness.

Temptation is the cause of so much hate.

Though love may be strong, trust has been broken,

And final separation is the route of their fate.

Many hopes and dreams are lost,

And many hearts are wounded,

Because of the pain that temptation caused.
