Apology in a Promise
The first day I met you,
My mind and my heart knew,
That you and I were meant to be.
Together forever, I hoped you'd see.
I hoped and I prayed that true love would grow,
All those dreams came true, as you well know.
You rescued my heart from a lifetime of pain,
You entered the sun into my world of rain.
I now hope and pray that we'll reunite,
To love and cuddle all through the night.
I can't continue all by myself,
An important part of me was thrown on the shelf.
I can't imagine us as two,
All I can remember is me and you.
All the fantasies and dreams that we shared,
For once, someone actually showed they cared,
True love shouldn't be lost this way.
I know things are hard, but you've got to stay,
Things will change, just give it time,
I can only picture you as mine.
If only I could prove just how much you mean,
There'd be no way you could go on with this scheme.
I wish you'd give it one more chance,
In my life, I'm taking a stance.
I know I love you,
And you loved me to.
Please, let's try once again,
Otherwise, I fear, this pain will never end.
I am hurting so very much,
I need to feel your special touch.
I need for you to come back,
And I promise to get back on track.
Just give me a chance to show you,
That the girl you grew to hate is through.
