Numerology: How it works

Numerology is a system or methodology used to establish relationships between numbers and our life events as a means to predict future events. The principle of numerology is that all of the numbers that relate somehow to your life can be reduced and simplified down to one single number or a simple series of numbers. Every person has a special number that influences and controls his or her life.

Numbers have been used since the beginning of time to record the "hunt" in ancient times, the beer brewing need for attention to detail, and the construction of pyramids. The mathematical equations used to build the pyramids are very advanced. Throughout the documentation of human civilization there has been a deep study of numbers and their relationship to our being. The power of numbers in important phases of life eventually took on a philosophical connotation.

Many people still believe that numerology provides valuable information and insight into their lives and the events around them. The validity of these beliefs has been argued since the early days before Christ. In any event the study and use has held mankind's fascination throughout civilization. Either directly or indirectly we try to establish information from the numbers of our birthdates, address numbers or other repetitive numbers that we encounter in our daily lives.

So what is our lucky number or number series? To find out, we need to establish a good bookkeeping system to record good and bad events. In this system we look for numbers that show up in our most joyful situations. Look at your birth date. The birth dates of those dearest to you. The addresses of locations that bring fond memories to you. The license plate of the cars that you loved. Phone numbers of loved ones. The winning numbers that you had in sporting events.

If we cannot find our lucky numbers from the observations in our bookkeeping notes, we may have to turn to our birth date, our most basic lucky number. Numerologist s believes that your birth date can actually manifest in personality traits. For example if you are born on the first of the month your lucky day is Sunday. Your number, number one, is called the "Monad," and signifies unity and great individuality.
You are a natural leader. Strong willed and independent, you like to go your own way and dislike being told that you are wrong. Each day of the month has a description of personality traits. These traits are fully described in numerology studies.

In the overall scheme of life we are often asked, or required, to determine a number. This number could be our place in line, our lotto number(s), or other circumstances. We certainly want the best chance at a random number. Numerology gives us our best shot at giving the best guess answer. It is most comforting to come up with an "educated number" rather than something out of the air. Thus we continue in a tradition handed down from ancient times.
