How to buy shoes on a shoestring budget

You can find a special pair of shoes for every activity and event that exists. We are inundated with everything from athletic shoes to stiletto heels. Finding the right pair of shoes to complete your outfit can be expensive if you give in to every shoe trend and style. However, there are ways to buy great looking shoes that complete your outfit without spending a fortune.

1. Shop During Sales

Does your favorite department store have a fabulous shoe that fits you perfectly, but the price is outside of your budget? Always remember that eventually that item will go on sale. Keep a watch on the store promotions and when those shoes you fell in love with go on sale, buy it. You can save as much as fifty percent of the price if you just wait for the next sale.

2. Buy Basic Colors

If there is a style of shoe that you love, check to see what other colors it is available in. For instance, say you have found the perfect black pump. Check to see if the pump comes in a light tan or bone, and brown or navy. This is a great way to ensure that you have a shoe to match all of your outfits, and it will also take you through every season of the year.

3. Shop the Clearance Rack

You can find the best deals on the shoe clearance rack. The shrewd shopper can find shoes under ten dollars on this rack. In addition, some stores will offer an additional amount off of clearance shoes to move the merchandise. However, beware that some shoes on clearance are there because they are no longer in fashion. If you stick to basic styles, you can find a great pair of shoes at a great price that you can wear for years to come.

4. Surf the Internet

You can also find great buys on shoes on the internet. Some department stores actually offer better deals on shoes on their websites than they do in their stores. It is also easier to find your size on the Internet site than it is in the department store. The only drawback in ordering shoes from the Internet is that you can't try them on, so check the site's return policy before ordering.

5. Don't Ignore Discount Shoe Stores and Discount Department Stores

Another great place to buy shoes at a reasonable price are discount shoe stores. They often sell shoes at a reasonable price, and you can often get two pairs for the price of one. Also, you can often find name brand shoes in these stores at reasonable prices. This is another great place to shop for different color shoes to complete an ensemble.

If you follow these simple guidelines, you will be able to purchase great looking shoes without going over your budget. Good luck shoe shopping, and have fun!
