Winter wedding theme ideas

There is a growing trend of brides choosing fall and winter weddings over spring and summer weddings. Winter weddings are beautiful and intimate and offer many advantages over summer weddings. One of the most significant advantages is the price discounts offered by many vendors in an effort to bring in more business. Reception venues more often than not will offer "Winter Wedding Packages" in which they will bundle up many services such as, DJ, Limo, Cake, additional hours, etc. that are typically not offered during the summer. You will also have the advantage of choosing many unique themes for what could be the most important celebration of your life.

The most obvious is the "Christmas or Holiday Themed Wedding". Make everything formal and elegant by choosing white and cream colors. You could decorate the church using white lights and bows. Create winter themed flower arrangements using white flowers and twigs. The reception can be decorated with a Christmas tree covered in white lights. Consider using the tree as your sitting chart with your guests names printed on their own Christmas ornaments that could double up as party favors. Decorate the tables with floating candles to add warmth. For the cake, have a tiered white fondant cake covered in sparkling snowflakes.

If you are on a budget, one of the nicest things about planning a winter wedding is that many of the reception venues and churches have already done much of the decorating for you. The standard colors of red, green, silver and gold are normally used. You can add your own touch by adding personalized ornaments, Christmas trees and flowers. Think about having a wrapped gift for each of your guests under a big Christmas tree at the reception hall. Have a dressed up Santa Clause sit near the Christmas tree to deliver the gifts to your guests. Your photographer can capture the moment for all your guest with a beautiful portrait. This could be a wedding to remember.

Let is snow! Winter wonderland Themes are also romantic and elegant. Use white as your base color and add sparkles of glitter with snowflakes, ice and snow covered branches. Decorate your church with icicles and candles. Walk down the isle over a carpet of rose petals to symbolize ice and snow. Decorate your reception hall in all white decor. Order an ice sculpture and surround it with white lights. Create the illusion of a winter wonderland with twigs, and branches, candles and white flowers. Have your reception hall minimize the lighting and use candles to illuminate the tables.
