Reflections: The madness of life

by The Goldfish Bowl

My introduction to a blog was through a news item,in the daily paper. It had an effect, which must have been the same as for the other readership;stark scandalizing! It depicted all that there should be, to make it a paradigm of the madness of life! The news item vivisected the blog to bits. The name of the institution was not given, but all that was said about, around and in it, gave a fairly good idea, which institution was being talked about. This at once made me think of the" dark" world category you would easily put the power of a blog into, the world of" bats and dark denizen" of the night. For the assassination here and assassination it was! Of the character of an institution!Of the workers, who went into the making of it.This made me unconsciously put the sign of "skull and crossbones" against the meaning of "blog".A "blog" is a dangerous practice, thought the first time "I".

This blog was the cry of a terribly hurt soul. For feeling so much hurt, surely he must be very sensitive. But then how come such a sensitive person was so very gross too.Vulgar, filthy, hostile and vindictive. These highly "visually"descriptive adjectives were blinkering' all over the blog.He was not fine tuned at all.If he were he would have blogged differently. He lay like a wounded beast, and as the memories of his workmates came by he lashed out at them.Sometimes his blog showed he tried to take it with a pinch of salt. But this act flopped. And the pinch' of the phrase literally pinched the wounds acutely. The salt' fell upon the wounds, and the intensity and the volume of the painful cry grew, till it seemed "air wolf" came rumbling out of its deep cavern and out and away on a mission to settle the score with the offenders of the poor guy!

The trouble with the seeing or hearing of something filled with sensationalism is,that the storyline is missed. So after a coupla deliberately slow and calmed down readings I understood this blog' s story. The poor guy was inadvertantly responsible for causing a loss/damage to his department.I do not recall the mode of his punishment, suspension or fine? But the point is he did not mind the punishment so much.He was accused, formally, coldly and in writing. But the entire staff, from top to bottom of his so called department ganged up on him. They did not let him speak, they did not give him any chance to explain. They did not giggle, titter or give him sly glances and they did not pass any sleazy remarks. They just ignored him.As soon as he approached them, they became "walls', big walls of expressionless deliberate ignoring.Their ignoring act was so studied that he could not even bang his head against the wall'.

So he turned to blogging. He said such angry things.Such uncontrollable things,he could not contain his thoughts.Everything ran helter skelter, dismay, dissapointment, frustration, loneliness, avenge;so quick were his thoughts that before he could complete sentences, they just fell onto the internet like a huge drop, like a, like, a BLOG!In his anger, tantrums, he managed to say such funny things, so ridiculous, farcical, stupid, vituperatively comic, that for a while I was transported into the world of Cartoon networks. In fact for days after I had had finished reading about the blog; the funny images kept on coming back, tickling my sense of humour, and making me enjoy fits of spontaneous laughter. The ugly and the obscene first impression faded into the distance.Only the picture of a big, indignant, comically in tantrum "baby", was left on the scene, thoroughly ignored and neglected.

Just as I was turning complacent about this blogger, I happened to read an article about some office stereotypes. One of them described was, quite pesky, friendly to all, from top to the bottom of the staff. He would be very annoying and trying at times.Hmmmmmmmm.Just maybe.I got thinking, maybe his department staff just used his costly mistake as an excuse, to distance themselves from him.A Godsend opportunity to get relief, from an one man induced tension for all! They took a long holiday from his "peskiness", all expenses paid(at the expense of the blogger of course, and his reaction showed he had to bear the tax, surcharge whatnot, and that too with compound interest).A long holiday with all the birds that flock, together, throwing the odd one out thoroughly tarred and feathered. So who is to blame them?

After that began my journey into the blogosphere and I found blogs are good. There are very proper blogs just like good articles in a fortnightly.Blogs can give you good knowledge, good experience and information, straight from the heart of good bloggers.Blogs are very personal in nature, and there is a world out there who will appreciate you for your own sake, your views, your feelings and your work. You are bound to find someone who agrees with you.You will never feel alone ever.On some sites the blogging requirements are too strict, proper and competitive, just like articles competing for acceptance in paper magazines.Well that too is born out of personal opinion, some people promote the correct and proper in the world of blogs.BUT my first impression of the blog, stays-the right to express oneself freely!.The form, the style, even the carelessness in spellings, or" grams and compo", all these too get the message across. At such blogsites if you are a perfectionist, go join a school or college to get your proper message across. But a blogger must never be overtaken by that which will make him lose even a bit of his means to express himself, as well as the" how" to express. It shows his immediate mood, his urgent desire to communicate, to share his nascent feelings with others. To get things off one' s mind.To get things off one' s chest. To let off steam. To blog.

There are blogs that may offend.I think that evidence seen on a blog should not be counted as something on which legal action would be taken. If it does otherwise, the M'Naghten Rule should stand in favor of the blogger. The blog should have immunity-"blogimmune".If a private corporation finds itself accused on the internet by a blog-they must not even count the blog as an evidence' content.Nobody should count it as such.Even the blogger must not be thrown into prison for what he blogged.Provided proper and real names are not taken, the blog must not be removed. If however otherwise, then power must be invested in an Internet authority to remove that blog.As for sensitive people like me who do not like gross blogs to spoil their memories of a good breakfast, there should be an internet tool available. One which the blog reader can use.A tool with input from all current, cultural trend of word usage known globally, in short a tool which can make out any gross'word on the global internet scenario, especially "blog-global".And after making out the gross words in a blog, if cute icons would stand in front of bad' highlighted words it would be dash good! And these icons would indignantly, angrily, petulantly, frowningly, admonishingly(and many more such) tell you to" see no gross, hear no gross, and do no gross"! And also say continue reading the blog, and excuse the blogger for his "Blogtharsis"(blog-catharsis), and a thank you note to the blog reader, for helping someone(the blogger)feel a lot, lot better.Indeed as his web-page showed you as a" visitor' he might be talking to you, and thanking you for visiting, for if it were not for people like you, all the hyper volatile, toxic and "inflammable" bottled up emotions, would have hit him like a sledge hammer, and he might have lost his mind.He would be wandering in the back alleys of his office.Poorly clad, laughing and crying, seeing his" boss" in the rot filled trash cans, and the catty females' of his department in place of the alley cats.In this uploading and downloading world of the internet;he can say with gratitude "thanks for taking a Blogload off my mind!"
