MSN is still partnering with Match.com to deliver interesting articles about dating. Today's article dealt with female players. The writer took the usual approach, and offered that while it is a major trip to date a woman playing the field, it is a great ride! I completely disagree. It's hell, and one that can and should be avoided. You shouldn't be wasting your time with someone who's playing the field to get gifts and favors unless that is your game yourself. Keep a few things in mind though and you might learn a bit to help you on your next adventure.

1.) Friendship may be preferable. I never really committed to dating someone who had commitment phobias but it was a lot of fun to hear how all of the other guys were getting taken. But I can't pity them, I figure that they have to know what they're in for, hell they should, particularly if they're in their 30s as I am.

2.) Take notes, dutifully. The ego boost that you think you'd get, followed by the disappointment and anger that's sure to follow; think that you could be the one in the same position. Of course if she's smart you'll never get the inside scoop anyway but it's worth a try. Besides the players always have a lot to talk about, and the "ordinary" rarely do.

3.) The grass is greener, but it isn't worth the trouble to maintain. Keep in mind we're not necessarily talking about looks or high-fashion or anything, that helps but it isn't necessarily par for the course with what we're referring to. Sometimes greener just means more interesting, in other ways; confidence, and a good hustle. Of course you can't give the player advice because she isn't listening and you're the one getting played anyway, so don't bother. That isn't exactly the type of friend you want to be anyway, you'll burn out quickly and you'll leave with a bad taste in your mouth. Just keep listening and watch the time pass by.

Once you've learned a good bit about how and what makes people tick, you can get back to being the man that you should be. Those other suckers can empty their pockets, but you can get a feel for how to make yourself more interesting and more than a friend for the one who truly appreciates your companionship. Many would disagree, but look at it this way; they're coming your way regardless, and are interested to see what you are going to do. Just make sure that whatever you, you leave with your respect and dignity in tact, but don't expect another woman not to do so just because you didn't think enough of yourself to with this one.
