The man turned his collar up as the wind blew down the alley and nearly knocked him over. "Just like all the others; look at the stuck-up madam, she won't look like that when I've finished with her".
Oblivious to the man and his thoughts the woman continued along her journey, not stopping for anyone or anything. After all late at night a woman can never be too careful, especially since the attacks had started. Three women from the college campus had already been raped and beaten to death since the beginning of semester.
Stealthily he moved towards her, his trusty scarf between his hands to gag her with. He'd been watching this one for a month, waiting until the time was right and he was completely ready. Now the time was right, his juices were flowing, he could already hear her screams and his excitement was rising to fever pitch. "Go go go!" He went to make his move but a noise from the behind the bins startled him and he slunk back against the wall.
"Well, well well what do we have here?" asked the voice of a young man "are you the one who's been attacking the girls on our campus?" The man said nothing, fear for his own safety had replaced his earlier excitement and now his tongue was tied. "Well answer me you silent pig, I'm not a patient person and you're making me angry!" Still the man did not speak and the unidentified voice began to punch and kick him. "You lowlife piece of scum, I'll teach you a lesson" As the punches rained down all the man could think of was this wasn't part of the plan, tonight he was supposed to be the winner, the big man on campus, he was going to get another one, another one would pay the price for all the hurt he had suffered.
"Joe, what are you doing, Joe?" Another voice, this one seemed distant somehow, the man couldn't work out what was going on. "I'm teaching this piece of scum a lesson, he's the one who's been attacking the girls on campus". "Really, I want a piece of him then, any of those girls could have easily been my Kate" the man felt another set of hands and feet attack him, he slumped to the floor and feebly attempted to protect himself, suddenly he was surrounded and was the rugby ball in the ruck. Still all he could think of was how his night had been ruined and as everything went black his last thoughts were this wasn't how it was meant to be.
