to the band.
Who Knows fans are in a class by themselves. It's easy to pick out of the crowd which fans have been with the band for a while. Usually, they're family members and friends, but they're always the first ones on the dance floor and the last ones to leave the gig. Some of them even have special dances made up for the special songs. A jig was performed by Boyer's daughter when the band played an Irish song.
Who Knows has a long repertoire of songs that they pick from each gig. A few of the songs they played were Paul Simon's "Me and Julio," Dave Matthews' "Ants Marching," Queen's "Crazy Little Thing Called Love," and Elvis' "Hound Dog." Although they only play covers, they find room to add their own creative alterations to some of the songs. One of the musicians might play a long solo to spice up the tune.
If you are interested in Who Knows, you can peruse their website at www.whoknowsband.com. It has information on the members, their song lists, photos, and merchandise. So if you happen to see Kagel in the University Store, make sure to ask him about his band Who Knows. Go to one of the shows and you'll get to see the other side of his double life. Onstage, Kagel really enjoys himself and has fun. As Barth put it on Saturday night, "This is as much fun as this guy gets!"
