Friends serve an important role in everyone's life. Some of us have many friend and others of us only have a few. I do not think the quantity of friendships matters but the quality does. I believe everyone needs friends in their life. Even if you only have one or two really close friends.

A true friend is someone who is there for you when you are done. It is someone you can call up late at night when something bad has happeend and they will be there to help you and give you support. Of course, you do the same in return.

A friend is also someone who will share in your joys in life. They will be happy for you when you get promoted at work, they will be in your wedding, they may become the God Parent of your child.

Friends are someone we can go to for advice. A true friend will be upfront and honest with you. They will not be afraid to give you their opinion on something but they will also never purposely hurt you.

We all need friends. We need people in our lives we can count on. Friends provide support, love and kindness. We also need friends to help us be social, to hang out with and have fun with. We all need some down time and time to unwind and take a break from work and school. It is wonderful to have a friend or friends to call to catch a movie, go out to dinner, go dancing or whatever the case may be.
