Maintaining weight is hard enough, but trying to lose excess weight is even harder. By the time you have reached the status of overweight or obese, you would have gotten used to your current lifestyle. You know you need to lose some weight because sooner or later those extra fats are going crash down on you; it will affect your lifestyle, your relationships and your health.
To lose weight, one also needs to change his/her lifestyle, which is always difficult. That is why most people give up half way. But it's not necessarily to make sudden big changes; start simple, get used to that, and then move on to other exercise plans.
The following tips do not require you to set a goal to lose weight. Instead, the goal here is to follow through the tips for at least two weeks, and then a month, and so on. These are very simple things that you can without going to the gym.
1) Eat your breakfast.
Our moms are right about this breakfast is important. It provides you the energy needed in the morning and come lunch time, you are less likely to binge.
2) Eat less, but more.
This means decrease your meal size, but have your meals more frequently. The best way to practice this tip is to eat a small portion of meal at an interval of three to four hours, instead of binging all at one go.
3) Keep your eating out habits at bay.
We tend to finish our whole meal when we eat out in contrast when we eat at home. But if you cannot finish your meal, don't bother forcing yourself. Try to eat out less but when you do, try having a bigger selection of vegetable dishes or salad. Bread, butter and cheese - well, yummy as they are, they should always be avoided and kept to the minimum. Also, avoid high glycemic food as they cholesterol and fat as well.
4) An apple a day keeps the doctor away
Junk food may make you feel good for a while, but they are never good for you health. So pick up some fruits instead. Think banana, watermelon, honeydew, orange - other fruits just does the trick as well. You may substitute these as your snacks too. So the next time you feel like eating something in between meals, instead of a chocolate bar, grab your fruits (carrot sticks, anyone?).
5) Drink more water
Contrary to popular beliefs, water does not bloat you up and cannot make you fat. Drink enough water daily to help eliminate toxins from your body.
6) Work out
Get off your couch and do 10 sets of pumps or sit-ups or abs crunches in between commercials. Go jogging, or walk your dog. Do you know that you exercise your
