Ferris wheel sunsets, apple tree dreams,
a continuous revolution, an altering green.
Everything changes and everyone slows,
reaching for yesterday, reaching for those,
those who are precious in a "once was" way,
hoping for yesterday to become today.
Remembering yesterday I smile and laugh,
but still I think "the past is the past."
I still feel the breeze as we plan and dream
cuddled beneath the summertime green.
I feel the last rays of a late summer sun,
holding your hand 'til our revolution is done
Those moments in time stand still as I dream,
lending a buoy to this turbulent sea.
Yet, in a comparison to what we share now,
as our heart links, sealing our vows,
yesterdays gone, today's just begun,
for now we watch a rising sun.
