Opposite

I sought understanding in every kiss,
I sought compassion in each of thy hugs.
I sought a light between possible bliss,
I sought a meaningful care in all shrugs.
I sought out strength and courage in thy eyes,
I sought protection and love in thy arms.
I sought truth within all the shielded lies,
I sought hope while enduring endless harms.
I denied everything I saw from thee,
No matter the tears that had to be shed.
And what I found I neglected to see,
You showed me any faith possible dead.
I held on to dreams one breath at a time,
But that was before I turned up so blind.

violets are blue,
when i met you,
we stuck like glue,
never separating,
