No cost in terms of money
To love and be loved
Holds value beyond measure
But what do we mean by love?
Passion
Pleasure, satisfaction, contentment
Devotion, sacrifice
Taking the risk?
And where do we find true love?
Our mother and father
Our brother and sister
Our husband or wife
Our friend, Our lover
And how do we know it is for real?
True love makes no demands
Its strength is beyond question
Everlasting and rock solid
When put to the test
And how do we know if it is not for real?
True love does not cheat or lie
No tricks or mind games
or excuse for escape
or selfish self-satisfaction
When you find your soul mate
Feel you can trust and be trusted
When you hold your own child
And know that you love and are loved
Then you will be rich beyond rubies.
