The best profession a woman can achieve in her life

The best profession a woman can achieve in her life is that one that is rewarding to her and/or best benefits society. This is an interesting (albeit sexist) topic and one could very well assign a title "The best profession a man can achieve in his life". There are a wide variet of answers and it is really up to the woman to decide what rewarding or benfits society means.

One can argue that being a housewife and stay-at-home mom is the best profession. At any rate, since the beginning of recorded history, the number of women who have done this grossly outnumber the women who have chosen other professions. If there are children, being a stay-at-home mom, allows a woman to spend the maximum time with her child or children, to train, care for and enjoy them. There are those who would argue it's not the quantity but the quality of the time spent with the child that's important. If so, I would challange them to find a 2 year old who would agree.

On the other hand, there's teaching and being a nurse. Once again, in my opinion both are time honored occupations and benefit society. These are also occupations traditionally filled by women so could be construed as the best. How about other fields? Astronauts, marine biologists, engineers, sales persons, etc are all non-traditional roles that in my opinion, women have done a good job filling so these could be considered best as well.

I guess the point of this discussion is that the woman herself needs to decide on what the best profession is and decide whether it's worth pursing or not. If it is, I would expect she would do her best thereby benefiting both herself and society. With my two daughters, I've encouraged them to do whatever they feel is best and could care less if they decide to be stay-at-home-mom or nuclear physicist or police officer, etc. My only rules are their job shouldn't involve doing anything illegal, immoral or harms themselves or others and whatever it is they do, they do their very best.

Everyone is put on this Earth for a reason and it doesn't matter what sex you are or color or religion or nationality or sexual preference. We should all be concentrating on finding out what that reason is and trying to ensure it is beneficial to society. It is in the course to pursue excellence, we will have a chance to get insight not only about ourselves but others as well.

So what is the best profession a woman can achieve in her life? It is whatever she feels is rewarding and/or provides the maximum benefit to society.
