Your Best Bed Now: A Buyer's Guide to Every Type of Bed
Buying a bed is tough; choosing your type of bed for your room is tougher. Consider your budget and space and who the bed is intended for. What type of bed are you looking for? Bunk beds for your boys? A new, more elegant type of bed with a bedroom set for yourself? When shopping for beds, it's important to consider if the type of bed you're interested in is going to last as long or longer than you need it to.
• Platform beds, bunk beds and loft beds are all good types of beds for limited space. They're one of the more economical types of beds and are the best suited types of beds for maximizing space and storage in smaller rooms.
• Canopy and sleigh beds tend to be the more elegant types of beds. Often you will find these types of beds in a bedroom set. Prices range, so make sure this is the type of bed you're looking for before you buy.
• Daybeds, futons and trundle beds are an excellent way to combine uses in a room. Use in a guest room that doubles as an office to providing seating when not in use as a bed. Trundle beds are a pleasant surprise in a guest or child's room, as these types of beds provide extra sleeping space but use no extra room. These are also a very economical type of bed and pay for themselves with their versatility.
• Toddler beds help a child transition from crib to big bed. They are lower to the ground and help little ones feel secure. Relatively inexpensive, this type of bed is always a valuable stepping stone in a child's life.
No matter what type of bed you're buying or who the bed is intended for, be sure to shop around, consider space and budget and remember, it's not as hard as you think.
