I believe the number one killer of relationships is that there is a lack of communication and mutual understanding between women and men. There are so many differences and it seems like most relationships treat those differences like the Elephant in the room that no one wants to talk about. Sure people in relationships can be compatible just like friends are compatible, but it's foolish to think that men and women will always agree 100% on situations.
Every relationship has issues. It's so easy to complain about what your significant other does wrong to your close friends, but how is complaining to your friends going to fix your relationship? If you want things to get better between the two of you you have to be an adult and talk to your partner about what you're feeling and if your partner is as much of an adult as you are, he or she will understand where you are coming from and you two can reach a compromise about your issues. Communication is a big part of relationships and it's the most infrequently used. This is mainly because if you're having an issue with someone, you really don't want to talk to them. This is usually because people don't want to argue, but they would be shocked to find out if they just went to their partner like an adult and told them how they felt how relieved they felt. Bottling up feelings takes its toll on the strongest willed person.
Mutual Understanding is also necessary. People in relationships need to understand that your partner is not going to be perfect. There is no such thing as a perfect person and regardless of how flawless the person seemed when you first met, know that they will begin to show imperfections. Placing higher expectations constantly on your partner can destroy your relationship because people can only be who they are, as long as they are treating you with the love and respect that you are giving them, then there should be no need for constant upgrades all the time.
As long as the woman knows that the man will make mistakes sometimes, he won't always understand your feelings, he won't be emotionally entwined with you all the time, and he may enjoy hanging out by himself every once in awhile, then the relationship should have minimal issues. As long as the man knows and recognizes that the woman needs love, attention, and support then there should be minimal issues. It's when these things are not recognized that problems within the relationship arise and can ultimately lead to the end of relationships.
