Getting what you want from a game can be a real pain when you're first starting out. It can also be a real pain if you love to spend and haven't quite figured out how to earn. Earning gold in warcraft is easy once you know a few tricks. Not all of them are going to be possible at every level, but even one of these tricks can change net you a large profit.
TIPS FOR EARNING GOLD:
1) Make room in your packs. This is fairly simple. If you're deleting items to fit that murloc eye you need to turn in to So and So then you're not adding that copper to your funds. It sounds stingy but every copper does at up and you're going to need to get into the habit of this, because later on those grey items will sell for gold. An addon called -AutoprofitX- can help you with this, it will immediately sell vendor trash each time you click a yellow square in the top corner of your vendor window. Seeing how much those greys add up all at once is really inspirational.
2) Double gathering professions. Let's be honest here. You may want the fun of being a leatherworker but unless you're one of the lucky rare exceptions you're going to make a lot more money if you just mine and skin. Or herbalize. In fact, with the addition of Inscription as a tradeskill and the profit of glyphs trickling to a fair price, you'll make more money mining and herbalizing than you will skinning. Add fishing to this repetoire and you'll be rolling in coins.
3) Watch the Market. Play the Auction House. A lot of players don't know how to work the market. An addon called Auctioneer can help you with this if you're feeling lazy. Just have it scan while you're afk getting a snack and when you come back you'll have a pretty good idea of how much things are worth. Then you can just post them and adjust prices as you see fit if you adjust them at all.
4) Sign Guild Charters. This is a great way to make gold if you're new to a server. Or if you have an alt that is unguilded and frequents the cities. Alliance side Stormwind is going to be your most profitable city- some people offer ten gold for a charter sign! Horde side you'll want to be in Orgrimmar- or Silvermoon.
5) Neutral Auction House. I make about one hundred gold a day posting recipes that are faction exclusive and available on a vendor. I park a banker at the vendor and I park a banker at the Booty Bay Auction house. With achievements out there are hundreds of players looking to add recipes to their cooking menus. Also, don't underestimate the faction specific pets. They sell nicely too.
6) Daily Quests. Once you hit the max levels daily quests are your friend. You can easily earn hundreds of gold in a matter of an hour or so. Once you establish a routine and things are running like clockwork you're going to be bored of these quests, but they're worth the gold, especially since they don't take that much time.
