There are lots of events in American History that people would like to have turned back time to have changed. In my opinion, some events and or tragedy's that people would like to have changed are for example, the atomic bombs dropped on Japan back in 1945. The Vietnam War, and most likely 9-11.
But for me the one event that I wish that I could have turned back the clock to have changed is, the assassination of, Robert Francis Kennedy during the 1968 California Primary.
For starters, I am too young to remember RFK. I was only two years old when he was killed. But I grew up learning and admiring the Kennedy's,mainly RFK himself.
I would like to be able to turn the hands of time to prevent this tragedy from happening because, I have always strongly have felt that Bobby would have become President instead of Richard Nixon.
I think that if Robert Kennedy had lived and gone on and have beaten Nixon, he would have ended the Vietnam War, and there would not have been a Watergate.
I think that Robert Kennedy would have put an end to all of the violence and lawlessness that was happening in America at the time.
And that he would have possibly have put an end to the cold war that we were having with Russia during that period in history. And then, maybe every nation on earth would not have had any reason to fear a nuclear war ever again.
It is also my opinion, that maybe Bobby could have put an end to communism. I also think that Bobby would have even found a way to have brought an end to poverty not only in The United States, but in every other country in the world.
Robert Francis Kennedy in my opinion, had he had lived,I think that he would have been the best President America's ever had. He was a very much loved and admired man. He spoke-out against the unrest and divisions that were going on in this country during the late nineteen sixties.
Robert Kennedy was also admired by millions of people because he was against the Vietnam War. He supported the Civil Rights Movement. He was a remarkable man who cared about people of all races and nations. And not just his fellow countrymen. Robert Kennedy is one of the most loved and admired men of the twentieth century.
I think that if Robert Kennedy was alive today, he would be speaking out against the war In Iraq and Afghanistan. In my opinion, that he would also extended an offer to help President Bush and President Elect Barrack Obama end the financial crisis in this country and all over the world.
