The true meaning of success

by Carla Baron

The true meaning of success depends on what you consider success. To me success can be many things for the most part I believe it is being satisfied with you life and who you are. Success is also not the same for everyone. I think when most people think of success they relate it to being finanicially successful. Wealth for the most part. But is that really success? What if you are so rich and have so much money but you are miserable and unhappy? Does having all the money change that? Are you still a success?

Does having money or a good job really define success? Look at the actors and actresses or any of these famous stars today be it a singer or sport figure. Maybe they are successful at their job or sport and have money but are they successful in life? Do they have good marriages and happiness, are they good parents? Some maybe but how many times do you read in a magazine or see it on the news that they are going through a divorce or maybe their children have been removed, or better yet some of them have wound up in jail. Are these people successful? Maybe in one area of their life otherwise not really.

Success to me first has to come from you. Success in life means that you have acheived things in life that many aspire too. Mother Theresa was a success. She was not rich with money but she was rich with love and commitment. She was rich in faith and her belief in God. Her dedication and attitude toward life and people made her a huge success. She did not live in a big house or wear fancy clothes nor drive a mercedes but she was a very successful human being.

Success in life depends on you and it's on many levels. What I mean by this is the folloiwng; if you are married and have choosen a life partner that you are happy with. If you found that special person than you should appreciate them and in return they appreciate you. If you have children then giving them love and giving them what they need to be a success themselves. Whatever or whoever they may be maining, if you are fortunate to have a healthy child than do everything necessary to make sure they grow up to be good human beings and productive responsible adults. If they are disabled then doing the best you can and finding them the best help and assistance available to help them overcome or make the best of whatever it is they and you are faced with. Success means acceptance of dealing with the hand you have been dealt no matter what.

Success to me is being humble and realizing what it is you that you have which you've been blessed with. Being healthy and able bodied. Having the smarts to become someone. If you are fortunate then sharing with others and being generous when ever you can be. I don't mean that you should allow people to take advantage of you but if you have been blessed with good fortune or you have been able to achieve more than others or the average person than find a way to give back and to help others. To me being successful means to never take anything or anyone for granted.

Living a good and happy life with your friends and family. That's success. You don't have to be rich or have a great job to be successful. If you own a home than you make it a happy home. Maybe you don't work but your husband does and you are a great wife and great mother, you're a success. Being a great husband providing for your family and spending quality time with your wife and kids. Being a great father if you have children. Being good to your parents and siblings. All of this makes a person a success. Doing a good job at work no matter what the job is. Becoming a good role model.

Success is not how much money you have in the bank or what your net worth is.If you can make the best of what you have no matter what it i than you are a success.. If you can do your best and live your life to its fullest and best and feel good about yourself than you are a success. Success is being content with yourself. It's being happy with who you are as a person.

What happens sometimes is our expectations are unrealistic and we think that success is something more than what we have. If we can just appreciate what it is that we have and be grateful than we are successful. This does not mean that you don't try to excel in life or be a better person. Success is setting realistic goals for yourself and achieving them. It's not about what others want from you, it's what you want for yourself. Maybe your parents want you to be a brain surgeon but you want to be social worker. Whatever it is that will make you happy what ever it is that you find fulfilling than you should try to attain it. As long as you are being reasonable and realistic the chance is you will be a success. If you are happy being a painter or a barber than you are a success. If you are happy and content doing wha ever it is that you do than you have found success as long as you are not hurting anyone.
