You make me a contradiction on each and every level.
You're both voices on my shoulders, angel and devil.
Every time I saw I love you its a battle inside of me.
Yet I feel like I'd bare my heart for you happily.
I used to be so good at putting on the brakes at will.
But you've cut the line and I'm going downhill.
I love you and hate you. You made me need you.
And I'm terrified of the day when we're through.
I never wanted this. Never wanted to need.
Love makes you strong, but it can make you bleed.
But though I'm afraid of the pain I risk for the prize.
I'm more afraid of every seeing pain in your eyes.
When I didn't love it was easier to step away.
When I didn't need I always knew what to say.
When it looked like I could hurt someone.
I made it over. I made it done.
But now, when I do love, do need, do desire.
I'm risking your heart, playing with fire.
Would it be wrong to wish you didn't love me?
So I could hurt but know that you would be free.
Free from me failing you, my greatest fear.
This is new love, and I wish it would just stop here.
