Clint Black, born in New Jersey and raised in Katy, Texas. Only 5'5" tall, but, with a 6'6" voice and talent. Clint was one of the first artists to kick start pop music into the traditional country world. During the 90's he did a mighty fine job of creating his own style playing guitar and the harmonica. Clint began writing songs at age 15, played in his brother's band for a while until 1987when he met Hayden Nichols who had a recording studio in his home. Nichols would later become the leader of Black's band and play lead guitar and sing. Somehow a tape by Black found it to the manager of ZZ Top, Bill Ham. Ham became Clint's manager and suddenly in 1988 Clint had a contract.

Clint's first single "A Better Man" in 1989 went to #1, and Clint became the first artist to reach number one with his first song since 1973. From then on it was all ahead full speed for Clint and his band. He has won every major music award from the Country Music Association there is to win and some more than once. Clint was the main man respponsible for paving the way for Garth Brooks to come on with pop in country that has turned the music business around and make it what it is today. "Killin' Time" and " Put Yourself In My Shoes" were immediate #1 hits for Black.Clint has many major hits and is a very popular artist no matter where he performs or to what kind of crowd is there. He can sure play that harmonica like no one I've ever seen or heard. When he steps out on that stage all dressed in black, get ready for one heck of a performance. He currently tours with Alabama and sometimes Patty Loveless. For the price of a ticket, you can't go wrong with Clint Black anywhere.

In 1991 Clint married the love of his life Lisa Hartman. They worked together for about 5 years making music together. "Last Goodbye" still brings tears to my eyes. They have a little girl named Lily who is about 5 now and Lisa has returned to TV. Clint still performs around the country, but, has cut back in order to spend more time with his family. Clint and his family still make their home in Texas, they aren't Hoolywood type people and they want their daughter to grow up in more ttraditional ways than the Hollywood scene. they live on a small ranch and really enjoy the quiet life. Black may have been born on the east coast, but, he surely belongs in Texas. The man is a joy to watch and listen to and when Lisa joins him on stage, WOW, what electricity they possess together.
