I have a four year old son. Unfortunately I did not inform myself thoroughly about vaccines until he was about 1 year old.
So he received most of the rigorously scheduled shots until his 18 month doctor's visit.
At 9 months, he received the DTAP vaccine among others and had a reaction of a swollen arm at the site of the vaccination followed by a cold/flu and his first ear infection. I did not administer antibiotics although the pediatrician did prescribe them without doing a thorough examination to determine the cause of the ear infection. (bacterial or viral)
After that episode i became more concerned about the adverse effects of vaccination my son was experiencing.
I ceased all immunizations around the time he was 18 months old when at an appointment the pediatrician was very persistent about vaccinating my son despite the fact that the little boy was harvesting a fever of 101 degrees F at the time. I refused treatment and had a very unpleasant experience. Needless to say, I did not return to that Pediatrician after his shocking lack of proper knowledge of vaccination protocol.
At the age of 4 I enrolled my son in Preschool for the 2008 school year. I applied for a Vaccination Exemption from the Orange County Health Department in Orlando. It was a simple process that bought me time without compromising his attendance to preschool where it is required to provide proof of vaccination or an exemption (which most people don't know about, check with your county's health department)
We started seeing a homeopathic pediatrician where I feel he's being cared for much better. There, I decided to try bring my son's vaccinations up to date.
He received a DTAP vaccine that he once again, had severe reactions to. Only this time, it was the worse yet.
It began with his arm swelling up to the size of a baseball at the site of the vaccination. It was warm and red. He complained of pain. Within the next 7 days more severe signs began to show up. Cold sweats, sleepless nights, fevers, uncontrollable shaking & shivering, strong cough, runny nose, sore throat, thick mucus, stomach pain, vomiting, middle ear infection (otitis media) on both ears and a series of screaming episodes with complaints of pounding headaches. (which I later found out are called encephalitic headaches meaning there is a temporary swelling of the brain)
I took him to the Pediatrician where he was examined by the nurse practitioner who checked all his symptoms and proceeded to prescribe an antibiotic. She sent out a urine sample to the lab. So there is a record of the results which I have not seen. I did not administer the antibiotic since it was not clarified if his ear infection was viral or bacterial. That result was not given to me by the nurse after the urine was tested, she simply called and said "everything looks good". Antibiotics do not treat Viruses only bacteria, administering the antibiotic when it's not needed only weakens the immune system when it comes to defense against certain bugs.
It has been over a month since the vaccine was administered and the virus is still lurking in my household. I became ill with similar symptoms soon after and the latest victim this past week is my 3 month old baby who now has a cough, runny nose and troubled breathing (due to mucus accumulation I believe).
We have had these 2 separate experiences in which the nurses assured me (when I have called the Pediatrician's office to report the incidents) that because adverse effects didn't happen immediately after the vaccine was administered, that it is not related in any way.
I am not a doctor, but my knowledge of the human body and simple science (with personal evidence at hand) brings me to the conclusion that these vaccines are toxic to my son's body. The time that it takes for these diseases to harvest in different people's bodies differs in my opinion anywhere from 1 to 7 days or more as effects show up either gradually or all at once. There are varying factors from person to person that determine that.
It is insane that this is such a problem, that vaccines are made of such toxic substances and in such a controversial way. There is a gap of proper communication between Doctors and their patients when it comes to immunizations. People trust that these strong vaccines are hopefully safe and everything will be OK because the odds of their child being affected are probably (hopefully) not against them. Usually, a few days after, patients will return to have their children seen by the pediatrician because they are sick, and are given an antibiotic which will not fix the problem, but rather harvest a worse one. Thus increasing the patient's monetary spending and more dangerously continuing a cycle that will simply deteriorate the patient's health over time.
Why isn't more information provided, why aren't there posters showing us regulations, ingredients & the way vaccines are concocted? Shouldn't our doctors be concerned about being more thorough and informative to their patients instead of just assuming and expecting that everyone simply needs to be quiet and follow the not so well informed healthcare leader?
I am in a bind because I send my 4 year old to preschool which is known to be a breeding ground for multiple varieties of viruses and bacteria. The poor kid has been fighting all kinds of agents for over a month and things don't seem to be letting up.
The present deteriorating environment is so out of whack that we have to decide whether we inject a possibly toxic substance that will only possibly protect them from the germy
lurkers or leave them naturally exposed to the "who knows whats" with the hope that we continuously nurture and care for them to develop and maintain a strong immune system that can fight all kinds of disease off safely.
I am sharing this because the odds have been against us, we have felt the side effects that are supposedly contained to a small percentage of the vaccinated population. It has happened to us and I know we are not alone in this.
