What to do when the future of your business is unclear

MY husband started a transmission shop 15 years ago. Everything seemed to be fine until the war. Most of our bussiness were military individuals. When they were all sent away, we had no bussiness. We were stuck with people that needed the work but could never pay for it. So we were destined to shutdown, even though my husband did not want to. Before we closed totally we got ride of the office and started doing one or two jobs here or there. We finally had to shut everything down when it came to be that we were working full-time somewhere else to make ends meat and couldn't keep the bussiness any more.
My suggestion to you is that if bussiness is really bad, you dont necessarily have to close down. Keep you really good customers and see about getting a part time job some where else, something on the side to help out wioth bills. This way if business starts to pick up again you can go back to owning full-time. Start Cutting your losses. Get ride of expenses you can do without.
We on the other hand didn't feel that confident. The economy is getting so bad now, about 70 % of all small bussniess owners are having to close there business' down. I hope everything works out for you
