Homeowners locally are told to remove the election signs supporting OBama, McCain, and the others who ran for office on Tuesday. I got plenty of fliers in the mail too, as three registered voters live here and one thinks he does. I for one am tired of those election signs all over the place and the political fliers that come in my mailbox.
Here's the deal, truthfully, you get a few choices of what to do with those political signs and fliers that came to your house this year. You can toss them away, which adds to the weekly garbage bill or have fun with them. I would rather have fun because this election should not cost me money unless of course I want to donate.
I had quite the collection of election fliers that came to my house. Two weeks prior to the November 4th election day, we began getting three or four a day fliers in among our regular mail. The last week before November 4, we began getting as many as eight fliers a day. My eighteen year old got just as many as my older daughter and myself. My ex-husband who has not lived here in three years also got some delivered.
Here are some fun things to do with political fliers that have come into your mailbox this year.
Some of these are great to do with the yard signs and the hand delivered political fliers.
1.) Wallpaper your living room, in a nice political theme. This will be unique, as your neighbors will not want to imitate you this time. Imagine Obama and McCain smiling down on you everyday
2.) Use these as fronts to your Christmas cards you save money on the traditional Christmas cards. Simply cut out the faces on the political fliers and glue them to half a piece of greeting card paper. On the inside, write your seasonal greetings.
3.) For the political signs, put them to good use by taping them to large boxes instead of Christmas wrapping paper. Think of the money you save and your presents will have a unique look to them this holiday season.
4.) Send political fliers to help fill those business reply envelopes to those who wish to sell you something. Trust me they will love something else to read then their own companies' information.
5.) You could have sent them to the other candidates' office before they closed up shop. I am sure they would have enjoyed seeing what the other group was up too. However, it is much too late for that, so use them to start a fire in your wood stoves or campfires. No sense in wasting the paper and it sure beats paying a bigger garbage bill to have it hauled away.
