Hotel reviews: Park Inn, Glasgow

by Wayfarer

Created on: November 17, 2008

Near the Park Inn hotel, in Glasgow, stands a sculpture of a clock on a giant pair of legs. It's meant to symbolise time running away and is a fair representation of life in this bustling city. But inside the Park Hotel, Glasgow, it is a different story altogether. This elegant four star hotel is an oasis of peace and relaxation at the very heart of the city!

For anyone planning to spend time in Glasgow on business or pleasure, the Park Inn is ideally located. It is minutes (even seconds) away from parking, the bus terminal and railway stations. Business or shopping areas in the centre of Glasgow are only a short stroll away and the Park Inn is surrounded by entertainment options!

For anyone taking in the opera, ballet, a play or a concert in Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall, the Park Inn is the place to stay. Many of the rooms actually overlook the Concert Hall and you can watch from the comfort of your suite as the crew set up for that night's production. You may even see the stars arrive for rehearsal!

The Lyceum, Theatre Royal and the Cineworld multiplex are only a proverbial stone's throw away. And for that pre-theatre meal of apre-performance drink, some of the city's top restaurants and clubs are located in the same area.

The Park Inn has one hundred, non-smoking, rooms, with a choice of business friendly rooms, family friendly rooms, or luxurious suite. The suites include a raised bedroom area, looking down onto a plush living area and out through large windows to the city itself. Imagine lying in bed with the lights out watching the never ending activity of the city outside!

Rooms and suites have free wi-fi, satellite t.v., DVD players, Playstations and coffee making facilities. They are fitted out with an emphasis on comfort. All rooms are bright and modern and disability needs are well taken care of if required.

The main reception area is at once stylish and relaxing, featuring, as it does, a fascinating waterfall feature. The Oshi restaurant is award winning and serves delicious "fusion-based" meals using Scottish sourced produce, while the B-bar is like every local pub should be, friendly, comfortable and buzzing!

And once the business - or socialising - side of your trip has been taken care of, why not relax in the Oshi Spa? There are a wide range of treatment available, including aromatherapy, a variety of massages, reflexology, hopi and Oshi senaka, to ease muscles and joints that may be all shopped out.

Combine all of the above with friendly staff who will go out of their way to help and you will see the Park Inn hotel is THE place to stay in Glasgow!
